Project Description

MBC invites you to bid on our tender for the renovation of the 44 Eccles street building . MBC is the acting construction manager on behalf of Cornerstone is retrofit of the mid-twentieth century former school which currently houses the charitable organization Cuso International. The work will include interior selective demolition to house approximately 46 single bedroom apartments for transitional women in need. The architectural layout, mechanical & electrical systems will be entirely replaced to coincide with the building’s vocational change from office building to affordable housing. The gross floor area is approximately 24,824 ft². A handful of units on each floor will meet the universal accessibility standards. The building has a collection of common areas, including a community room, a community kitchen, and a laundry rooms.

This tender package is for:

–Package 4: Supply and installation and monthly rental fees for scaffolding tower with loading platforms, stair tower and garbage shoot at the South face of the building.

Site visit:

Bidders are encouraged to visit the premises to familiarize themselves with the existing conditions before the date of the tender closing and in advance to submitting a bid. A site visit is schedule for June 29 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at 44 Eccles Street You are to meet Michael Hopkins (cell: 613-222-4176) from MBC at the front East side entrance.
