Nestled in the heart of Nepean, the Dunbar Court apartments project was designed to seamlessly integrate with and enhance the existing neighbourhood, redefining modern urban living in an affordable housing format. The project consisted of two distinct three- storey wood-framed buildings designated as buildings A & B, providing for 31 new apartment units with a Gross Area of 20,000 sq.ft. The unit mix includes bachelor, one and two-bedroom configurations with several accessible units on each floor. Also included are communal amenities including laundry, bike and scooter storage as well as elevators and lobby areas.
The design incorporated pre-finished metal siding and the elevations detail features like parapet roofs, and integrated solar panel canopies. The project was built within extremely tight staging requirements as well as residences and neighbours in close proximity where community involvement was critical in minimizing disruptions.
The result is a modern, functional, and accessible affordable housing option within the Nepean community.
