This project consisted of constructing a new 4-storey, 48,000 sq.ft., 49 unit affordable housing complex. The building includes a mix of studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments including barrier free units, laundry facilities and indoor garbage room.
This affordable housing complex was designed and built to a Passive House standard and includes a solar array on the roof to generate renewable energy. Other features include a high performance building envelope with superior insulating values (R-73+ in the roof assembly, R-68+ in the exterior walls, R-57+ in the entire floor slab), triple glazed windows, and a complete mechanical and electrical system design that promotes energy efficiency and heat recovery leading to overall superior tenant experience.
Work proceeded through COVID under a CCDC 5B Construction Management contract converted to stipulated price and the Complex was completed and ready for residents in the Fall of 2023.
