This project consisted of constructing a new 3 bay vehicle maintenance garage facility that features a pre-engineered, “frame-less” super-structure with enhanced building envelope and energy efficiency characteristics in order to meet netzero ready energy performance targets associated with the City’s sustainability plan.
The new 730 square metre (7,860 sq.ft) building with foot print dimensions of 31.35m x 22.35m (102’-10” x 73’-4”) is located at 3 Terry Fox Drive within the site of Kingston’s recently created state of the art Fire Training Centre. The new facility is crucial in maintaining all first responder vehicles and equipment throughout the surrounding area. The preengineered, frame-less Honco structure that is used for the building shell was manufactured in Quebec City and assembled on-site by our assembly team. The facility also incorporates various multi-purpose rooms and staff offices within.
A general site works package was also included in this project’s scope of work which saw landscaping, fencing, as well as a paved parking lot.
