Project details
McDonald Brothers Construction was retained as the construction manager for the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa. This project consisted of demolishing the existing building and site services at 2887 Riverside Drive and then constructing a new 4-storey, 39-unit structure. This building serves as an alternative affordable housing facility for youth in the community.
The ground floor houses supportive services and is known as the ‘youth hub’. It also serves as a multi-purpose room for gathering. The remaining three floors above are where the residential units reside.
The building is designed in a ‘C’ shape with the focal point on the central outdoor courtyard which also provides communal space for the residents.
