Located in Ottawa, Youville Centre is a non-profit, registered charity that serves adolescent mothers and their children. This project consisted of constructing a 5,134 square foot addition to the existing building, which serves as not-for-profit facility for with a paved parking lot with gated playground. The existing building is 3-stories with classrooms, gymnasium, offices, and nurseries for infants. The new addition to the building increased the capacity from 55 to 70 children and added to the existing classrooms, offices and nurseries.
The exterior of the new addition consists of brick, exterior stucco, aluminum framed glass doors and windows. Interior construction materials consist of plaster wall finishes, gypsum board partition walls and ceilings; 2’x 4’ suspended ceiling tiles. Floor finishes are a mixture of terrazzo, vinyl floor tiles, carpet, hardwood, and exposed concrete.
